Who is Ezra Ferguson?

Hi, I’m Ezra, and I love stories.

When I was little, I thought I wanted to be an actor. At the time, that’s how I told stories. There are few things more compelling to me than creating a narrative and seeing its meaning and emotion play out on the faces of my friends and family. Storytelling is a universal language and a powerful vessel to teach and inspire, to motivate and cultivate greater things in all of us. Sometimes, they’re just plain fun, but joy—even the silly kind—can be a worthy pursuit.

An embarrassing secret I’ll confess to you is that I like pretty much every story. I’m an easy audience, hard-pressed to give anything less than a 7/10. I get swept up in the current of whatever I’m enjoying and most stories have at least some merit. However, that’s not to say I’m not a critic. The great stories, the ones that leave you breathless and contemplative when you lie awake at night, are few and far between. They require craftsmanship, vulnerability, and an aching desire for higher things. Above all, I believe every storyteller has a duty to the Great Creator and Captain of our Souls: Jesus Christ. I’ve wanted to tell that story, and to honor him with it, all my life.

I grew up in about 30 different houses all across the western United States filled with my amazing siblings until I finally settled in the Pacific Northwest just in time to die in Y2K. Thankfully, I recovered and continued my endless hobbies in search of that perfect tabletop RPG session, the most epic strategy narrative game, and the most superlative motion picture—all seeking that transcendent narrative. I haven’t found it yet, but while I wait, I’m writing novels as best I can. I hope you enjoy them.

Ezra lives in the Seattle, Washington area with his adorable wife of almost thirty years and countless animals, too many roleplaying books, and six fruit trees. He has two incredible adult children pursuing their dreams and tries to spend every morning in the Bible, in prayer, or at church. He loves weights, football, history, video games, and thick dark ale. God has been good to him every day of his life.
