At long last, Return to Aramon - A New Moon is upon us!
The writing journey I could not have imagined finally began in earnest one cold day in January 2024. What started with intense trepidation, furious crumples and rewrites, and one writing workshop, article, and seminar after another… finally took shape in a 150,000 word rough draft in April of that year. A host of encouragers told me I could do it, prodded me to do it, and hoisted me along the way.
Every day I prayed it through and, as the Lord tell us, dedicated my work to Christ. Every day, my wonderful wife listened patiently to each scene and graciously gave me feedback. Every day a tiny lump of fur decided she would be my office co-pilot upside-down with her hind feet in her ears (thanks for the warm lap, Tinyo).
In the late spring and summer a long series of alpha reads, beta reads, and edits ensued. I had the absolute joy of hiring my own daughter who is an astonishingly talented editor. I’ll never forget the late night chats and debates and the wonderful annotations and letters she provided to me. As the days began to grow shorter again, something resembling a real book emerged.
What followed were all the long and arduous tasks of juggling a day job with the business of formatting, promoting, publishing, and on and on. Winter passed and spring was upon us again. Nearly one year to the day, I finally saw it: Return to Aramon - A New Moon live for pre-orders! Could this be real?
I have so many swirling thoughts right now, it’s impossible to express much more. Let me just close this post by saying THANK YOU. Thank you God, and thank you to all my wonderful friends and co-laborers. You are awesome, and the tiny token of appreciation in my acknowledgements is not enough. Going to chew on this one for a while!
